More Than a Prescription: Your Eye Health, Fully Covered

Our comprehensive eye exams in Vallejo do more than update your glasses. They’re built to protect your vision and overall health.

For each visit, we provide personalized care and advanced testing to detect early signs of eye conditions, even before symptoms appear. Whether it’s your first exam or a routine check-in, we tailor every step to your needs.

What to Expect During Your Eye Exam

During your eye exam, we assess your vision, check your prescription, and screen for eye conditions like cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration.

Dr. Laura Schrupp and Dr. Quan Dao lead most of our routine and senior eye exams, bringing deep clinical experience and a warm, communicative approach. We also evaluate eye muscle movement and peripheral vision to ensure your eyes are functioning properly.

If you wear glasses or contact lenses, we’ll fine-tune your prescription and discuss your lens options.

We also provide exams for patients with diabetes, a history of eye surgery, or other medical conditions that require additional monitoring.

Seeing the Bigger Picture: Whole-Health Screenings

Your eyes are windows into your overall health. That’s why we also screen for signs of diabetes, high blood pressure, and autoimmune disorders.

These screenings enable us to identify early warning signs, sometimes before you or your primary care physician notice any symptoms, and guide you toward proactive treatment.

We recommend that every child have an eye exam by age 6, or upon referral from their school vision screening, pediatrician, concerned relative/guardian, or parent. Common issues may include sitting unusually close to a TV or digital screen, droopy eyelid, or a cross-eyed appearance.

Every adult over age 40 should ideally have an eye exam every 1 to 3 years. More frequent eye exams may be needed, often starting at an even earlier age, if a pre-existing medical or family history exists.

Technology That Works for Your Eyes

We use advanced diagnostic tools to give you the most accurate, informed care possible. That includes:

  • OCT imaging to detect retinal changes.

  • Optos retinal photography (often without dilation).

  • Visual field testing to monitor glaucoma and neurological health.

These tools support early detection, smart decision-making, and peace of mind.

Eye Exams for Every Age

We care for patients across generations, from children having their first exam to seniors managing age-related changes. Our warm, family-friendly environment and multi-decade legacy make us a trusted choice for families throughout Vallejo and beyond.
