Cataract Surgery

Cataracts are one of the most common causes of age-related vision loss. Cataract surgery is also one of the most commonly performed and successful surgical procedures worldwide. Dr. Anthony Agadzi performs cataract surgery at his affiliated surgical centers in Vallejo, Fairfield, and Vacaville in Solano County, California.

Traditional manual cataract surgery has undergone significant evolution and continues to deliver excellent results. More recently, laser-assisted cataract surgery (often referred to as femtosecond-laser or “laser cataract surgery”) has introduced greater precision and consistency. When combined with premium intraocular lenses (IOLs), including options for astigmatism, presbyopia, or multifocal correction, laser cataract surgery not only removes the cataract but can also reduce your daily dependence on glasses or contact lenses.

We’ll help you explore your options, understand how to prepare, and ensure you receive complete follow-up care.

YAG laser procedures are also available post-operatively to treat posterior capsular opacification, a common and easily treatable condition that may occur after cataract surgery.

Glaucoma Procedures

We offer laser and minimally invasive solutions to manage glaucoma, especially in its early to moderate stages.

  • Prescription Eye Drops: Often the first step in managing glaucoma, medicated drops help reduce pressure within the eye and slow disease progression.

  • SLT (Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty): A laser-based procedure that enhances fluid drainage to lower intraocular pressure.

  • iStent®: A microscopic implant typically placed during cataract surgery to improve fluid outflow and maintain pressure control.

Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS): Technological advancements now enable minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), which uses microscopic tools and devices to enhance fluid drainage with fewer complications and a faster recovery.

Combined Cataract-Glaucoma Surgery: For patients with both conditions, we often perform a single, streamlined procedure that addresses both at once for optimal outcomes
